Name: Dovey Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Pointer Mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of June 2025 SEX: Female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 40 lbs as of 6/6/25 Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Dovey is unique in that, like most white dogs, she is deaf. This will require some alternative training techniques that involve visual cues. As with any dog, training a deaf dog takes time and patience. There are some ways in which deaf and hearing dogs learn quite similarly. Repetition, reward, and consistency remain the pillars of success. She also may startle more easily. This is a congenital abnormality and should have no medical impact on her. Dovey is Looking For: Hiya!
