Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Hi! My name is Toby G, and I also answer to Puppy and Good Boy. I don’t mean to be too boastful, but I’m honestly the cutest guy around with the best personality (my foster family says so every single day!). I greet everyone I meet with a happy tail wag and a big smile. I love all people, from young kids to adults and make instant friends with dogs from tiny terriers to big breeds. You’d be hard pressed to find a better playmate and snuggler. I have just the right amount of puppy energy (which means playtime and nap time are how I spend my day!). Oh, and did I mention I’m smart? My foster mom is already teaching me “sit” and “leave it.” I listen super well and learn really fast. I’m crate-trained and sleep all night long. If you’re looking for a handsome, smart, playful guy who loves walks and sweet kisses, then apply now! At 16 weeks old, I weigh 22 pounds (and I’m growing all the time!). I’m a gorgeous, black and tan German shepherd mix with stripes down my legs, white paws and chest dressed for black tie or backyard bbq! If you think I could be the guy for you, apply to meet me today at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
