Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s always ready to brighten your day? Meet Buckie, a sweet young pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! Buckie is a certified people-pup who wants to greet everyone he meets. He thrives in a home where he can be part of the action—whether that’s joining you for a walk, cuddling on the couch, or showing off his adorable dance moves! He’d be happiest with a family or person who has a flexible schedule and can spend lots of quality time with him, especially while he's getting adjusted to his new home. Buckie is not a fan of being alone for too long and may get vocal when he’s feeling lonely, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal. He also prefers a calm and quieter environment, especially while he’s still getting used to the world. Loud, crowded spaces can make Buckie a little nervous, and he’d much rather stick to peaceful strolls and cozy hangouts. We could also see him loving a yard or outdoor space where he can zoom around and let loose since he’s got energy to spare and joy to share! If you’re looking for a snuggly sidekick who loves love, adventure, and being your number one fan—Buckie is your guy. Ready to make him part of your family? Submit your application today and prepare to fall in love! Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
