Dog Breed: Basset Hound / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. 53% Basset Hound, 100% low to the ground, and fully equipped with the best floppy ears you’ve ever seen! At 2 years old and 50 lbs, COTTON is a goofy, playful pup looking for his perfect match with Rescue City’s help after his heartbroken family was splitting and had to rehome him. Cotton LOVES tug-of-war, squeaky toys, and ice cubes (his newest obsession!). He’ll happily carry multiple toys around at once and would play all day if you let him. After playtime, he’s all about cuddles, often curling up right next to you with his head in your lap. About 70% of the time, he’s relaxed and mellow; the other 30% he gets bursts of zoomies and high energy. Cotton enjoys meeting people and happily greets everyone on his walks. He’s learning how to interact with other dogs, he seems to prefer the calmer ones. He has not been around cats. Cotton is house trained and crate trained (and very proud of mastering the word “crate”!). Cotton would thrive in a home with an active family who will keep him well exercised and continue his training. He’s already mastered commands like “crate,” “come here,” “let’s go,” and “sit” (especially when treats are involved!). He’s still working on “no” and “drop it” during his extra-playful moments!
