Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. This gentle boy is named Goliath. He is a two and a half year old mixed breed pup. Goliath is fully grown at 50 pounds. He is looking for a forever home where he can get the love and attention that he deserves. Goliath has a medium energy level. He has experience as a running partner and loves to play with other dogs. He also loves human attention and would be happy to be cuddled and pet for a while. He is even good in the car! He is the perfect blend of adventure partner and cuddle buddy. Goliath gets along well with other dogs and children. He loves attention from all canine and human companions. Goliath has not met cats yet. He is a chill boy that really just wants to spend time with his people. Goliath knows his stuff as he is house, crate and leash trained. That makes him ready to move into his forever home and plenty of opportunities to show off his skill set. He knows his family will be proud of him. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
