Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Jerry, was adopted from us in January and returned due his owner's work travel. At 7 months old, Jerry is a playful, goofy guy who enjoys other dogs and toys. His ideal home would be active and engaged in training as he is a smart boy who knows a lot of tricks. He has been house, crate, leash trained while in our care. He's about an 7 out of 10 on the energy scale and loves to greet other dogs on walks. He can be a tad vocal when first left alone in his crate. Jerry loves to do tricks for treats. He knows quite a few! (sit, down, stay, free, place, come, and find it -he'll find food when you hide-. He also knows tricks like, paw, southpaw (left paw), spin, down, high five, legs (he'll sit between your legs), easy (he'll take food from your hand lightly), and up (he'll sit on top of things) he really loves to sit on benches and tables during walks). He currently lives with two other dogs and does great with them! Jerry was born on 11/08/24 along with 10 other puppies to a mother in our care. We don't know dad but mom weighed about 60 lbs, so we expect him to medium to large when fully grown. He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $250. Apply today at mpravl! Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
