Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. A FRIENDLY & HAPPY PUPPY: Approx. 5 months old / Approx. 21 lbs. & growing Hello – I’m Scoot! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am sure glad to be in their care. The volunteers come spend time with me several times a day, and I can’t wait to be spending time with a family of my very own in a great home soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I haven’t met dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over, as I am an energetic puppy. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me best when they say I am ‘a fun puppy with lots of puppy energy’! A typical pup, I can be a bit jumpy with excitement – but I am just the sweetest boy and sat perfectly for my bath and nail trim. The playfulness truly kicked in though, and – by bath’s end - I was playing pounce with my towel – lol. Affectionate and fun, I am sure to charm you with my silly puppy ways! / My energy level is 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog - so get ready for some training with your new best friend. I’m getting familiar with the ‘sit’ command and am new to the leash, so let’s have some fun training time together. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having a few accidents on the shelter schedule, so please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to give and get kisses and get those great belly rubs in return. I’m sure I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where I can runoff my puppy energy with you, but – don’t leave me unattended, as I have shown a fondness for a bit of digging. I love toys and - Fall may end up being my favorite season, as I love to chew those things that fall from the sky (leaves). / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training. • MEDICAL: I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow. I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
