Description
Dog Breed: Brittany / Setter / Mixed (short coat). Coconut is the cutest black and white brit mix (primarily setter) you will ever see. She is very intelligent, athletic, loyal, and cuddly. She is a 3 year-old and weighs 35 pounds. She LOVES people, and is really good on her leash walks. Coconut’s foster mom has worked on Coconut’s social skills and Coconut is quite polite and well-behaved in social settings. She even walked politely through a nursery without knocking over plants or trying to eat them. Coconut’s foster mom has even taken Coconut to work where she either lays quietly on the floor or talks to the other employees. Coconut is a high energy girl, very birdy, and will need a home with a yard that is has a 6 ft privacy fence so she can safely run zoomies and hang out in the sun. She is going to need a home where her people understand her exercise needs and can take her on daily walks/runs. Coconut also loves her toys although squeakies aren’t the best since she has been known to tear out the squeaker and you would want to avoid a squeakerectomy. Coconut would do well as an only dog or would be okay with another dog who is not a bully. She is not timid with other dogs and will check aggressive dogs, will guard, but loves to play. Coconut can get jealous when another dog tries to get her toys or treats and will tell the other dog off. When she is corrected she responds appropriate and immediately. She does tend to play hard so a small dog is probably not appropriate Coconut likes to get your attention by putting your hand in her mouth. She doesn’t bite or pull but just gently holds your hand until you respond. A little training should be able to transfer this behavior to just nosing your hand for attention. Coconut also loves to herd her people. Coconut does have a hip pin from surgery required after sh was hit by a car. Her surgery was successful and she loves to run. Coconut needs a person or family that takes her with them for most everything. A home where someone is home most of the time would also be ideal. She just wants to be with people and wants to go with them. She is polite and great in every setting her foster family has tested. She would do ok with a single person that needs a companion for adventures, or with a family that takes the dog with them for adventures Coconut is spayed, current on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $325.00. If you are interested in making Coconut a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit .nbran and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process. If you have questions after you have completed the adoption application, contact Patti at 801.641.4053. Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs. We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Coconut can be adopted up to 1400 miles from her foster home to eligible adopters.
