PLEASE NOTE THAT MEET & GREETS FOR ADOPTION WILL HAPPEN AT OUR RESCUE IN PACOLET, SC. Special Needs? Sister is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Sister was on Prozac for approximately 5 months in the spring/summer of 2024 according to her medical records. This was prescribed based on the owner's request due to "Sister's nervous behavior'. She was not on Prozac when she arrived in rescue and has not been since. What we've seen in rescue is a wonderful standard poodle that simply wants to be with her people at all times. This is not uncommon in her breed. Weight: 38 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Sister requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Sister has known life as companion and is eager to return to this. Sister is comfortable with or without another dog in the home—she adapts beautifully either way. She's more of a “people’s dog” and would love nothing more than to curl up beside you on the couch for a movie marathon or hop in the truck for a ride, ears flapping and tail wagging. She’s a great travel buddy and an even better snuggle companion. Sister is looking for a calm, loving home where she can continue to build confidence and enjoy the simple pleasures: soft beds, kind hands, peaceful days, and someone to love her just as she is. She doesn’t need perfection—just patience, a sense of humor, and a warm heart. What is my personality like? Sister is a beautiful blend of sweetness, resilience, and quiet courage. While she may be a little nervous when first exploring new environments, don’t let her initial hesitation fool you—this girl wants to trust, and she wants to belong. With just a little patience and kindness, she opens up quickly, revealing a heart that’s deeply loyal and full of love. There’s something incredibly special about Sister’s spirit. Despite her uncertainty at times, she meets the world with gentle bravery and an eagerness to connect. Sister knows her commands well and has clearly been someone’s good girl—though she’s not above a little mischief. Sister is an expert-level counter surfer and a certified trash sniffer. If you leave a snack unattended, she’ll consider it fair game. But with a little structure and consistency (and maybe some clever trash can placement), she’s more than capable of being a respectful housemate. You’ve been warned: unattended snacks may mysteriously disappear! If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a tender past and an even brighter future, Sister is ready to ride shotgun on your next adventure—both in the truck and in life. She’s got love to give, lessons to teach, and a whole lot of heart waiting for the right person to hold it. She’s already come so far—now all she needs is someone to walk with her the rest of the way home. How do I act when I first meet new people? Sister is a sweetheart. This gentle girl will greet you with a happy, wagging tail. Other tips and tidbits: Sister was born 12/02/2021 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet.
