Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Toni, with her adorable extra toes in the back! Toni and her siblings were born in the shelter, and raised in wonderful foster homes! Her sweet mama has been adopted, and now it's time for the puppies to get out into the world! Toni is a typical puppy – social, curious and ready to bond with her adopters. Like most puppies her age, Toni is still perfecting life skills and manners like potty training, so plans will need to include a fair amount of dedicated time, resources, and plenty of patience to help Toni become the best canine citizen she can be! A home with other animals and children may be a fit with thoughtful, positive introductions. The great news is that the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation now provides a voucher for training with a local positive-reinforcement trainer for EVERY dog or puppy adopted, so you can get the best guidance and support as you embark on your life together! Adopt Toni and get started on your new, wonderful relationship! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
