Dog Breed: Hound / Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Churro is an adorable pup who is looking for a new home. Churro is currently with our partner rescue in Louisiana but will be coming to NJ on 7/26. Churro has the most beautiful blue eyes! He is described as a kind loving soul with so much love to give! He is sweet and calm. Churro is friendly to all yet bears some scars which indicate his first 5 years were rough. Churro is dog, cat and kid friendly! Churro is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
