Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. "Butter Bean loves being outside! Very inquisitive, makes toys out of everything from mud to cicadas! Easygoing very and submissive." -his foster mom At almost 4 months old, Butter Bean weighs 20lbs. We expect him to be medium-sized when fully grown. In his foster home, he is working hard to master all the good boys skills: Like chasing cicadas, sunbathing and rolling in the grass. This guy loves the outdoors! Butter Bean and his two siblings came to us from Cherokee. They are all neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $350 All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
