Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Meet Freya, a sweet and spirited pup with a true zest for life! Joyful, affectionate, and always up for a daily adventure (or a cozy cuddle on the couch after said adventure), Freya has blossomed into a playful companion who brings fun wherever she goes. Whether she’s racing around the yard or tossing her toys in the air during a solo game of fetch, Freya is the life of the party—and her enthusiasm is contagious! Freya is smart, eager to please, and incredibly food-motivated, which makes her a great fit for continued training. She’s still learning how to channel her excitement in appropriate ways, so a patient and consistent adopter will help her thrive. On walks, Freya loves to explore, sniff, and hop after birds and squirrels. She’s doing well with house training but hasn’t gotten the hang of going potty on walks just yet—she prefers using her designated spot in the yard, so a home with yard access would be a big plus. Despite her energetic side, Freya is a total snugglebug at the end of her day. She loves curling up with her people after she's tired herself out and finds comfort in being close. Her routine in foster care includes morning naps while her foster works from home, afternoon playtime, letting out her energy in a yard space, and peaceful nights sleeping in her own bed. She’s also crate trained and does well when left alone for a bit. If you're looking for a bright, bouncy, and loving companion who will keep you smiling and melt into your lap at the end of the day, Freya might just be your perfect match. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
