Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $350. Meet Bruno! This fun loving and spunky pup LOVES to play and is very affectionate! And he has quite the “happy go lucky” personality to boot! Some of his favorite things to do include playing with his canine foster siblings, rolling in the grass, attending doggy daycare, and receiving pets from his foster family! He is good with other dogs and kids of all ages (although keep in mind, he is still a puppy and is a little jumpy sometimes). Bruno is crate trained, house trained (he does still need to go out little more often than an older dog) and starting to learn basic commands - he is picking those up quickly! He is very treat motivated which makes training so much easier! Bruno truly has the best temperament, so easygoing and loves to be around people. He will make a great addition to his future forever family!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
