Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Staffordshire Bull Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 185.00. Meet our sweet Nina. This poor, 5 year old girl’s story starts out heartbreaking. Nina found herself stuck on the streets and pregnant and in dire conditions health and safety wise. Every day was a struggle for survival! Multiple strangers tried to help her, but alas, she was forced to give birth on a strangers cold porch, where she was definitely not welcome. Nina and her puppies were in grave danger! We gave her safe Haven and a place to raise her babies off the streets so that her new chapter could begin. Through all of the heartbreak and neglect she still has a love for humans. She seeks out their affection in a quiet and gentle way. She stands quietly watching and waiting for her turn to get ear scratches and belly rubs. Nina can be described as intensely observant, low-key and almost chill. However, you can tell when she gets her attention from people she lights up in her own unique way. Having been a stray, abandoned dog, she still is wary of other dogs. She tolerates them, co-exists with them but I do not feel like that’s her first choice of company. That could change now that babies are weaned. Nina probably never has had a toy, bed or a playmate. So I’m not sure that playing comes first nature to her. She does like a good walk though! With time, patience, and love she will learn to play and enjoy being a normal dog! Nina does seem to enjoy the attention of children and can be a little protective of people she feels are her own. Sadly, Nina resides in a boarding facility, but this may be the closest thing to a home she’s ever been in. Remarkably, she is house trained. If only she could tell us her story! We WILL be her voice for now and create her new beginning! She is ready to start fresh with a family who understands her past and is ready to create her new forever!! Come meet Nina!
