Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Meet Veda! This adorable fluffy terrier mix girl is so sweet and loving. She spent much her puppyhood in an overcrowded shelter, and she is enjoying the comforts of a foster home! We are helping her navigate the new world of stairs, potty training, and taking treats gently. Our kids and neighbors are loving her up all day long with plenty of fresh grass excursions. As soon as she spots a cozy lap, she dives for it and quickly curls herself into a ball for a nap or affection. Her stunning black markings look like a larger border collie but we think she will stay a mini size! She arrived at only 5 lbs at 3-4 months of age so we are guessing she’ll be smaller full grown. Her breed is anyone’s guess: 100% rescued! Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
