Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees. MEET YOUR NEXT GENTLE, LOYAL BEST FRIEND- WINTER!! Winter is a beautiful, sweet-natured Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as his gentle frame. At around 1.5–2 years old, Winter is the perfect blend of playful energy and calm affection. He’s come a long way from his uncertain past and continues to blossom every day in his foster home. This gentle giant walks well on a leash, is not food aggressive, and takes treats with a soft, respectful touch. He’s food motivated and enjoys learning—currently mastering basic commands like “stay” and “lay down,” and he’s working on “sit.” Winter is also potty trained and never soils his outdoor kennel. While he’s not crate trained yet, he is getting more comfortable with indoor routines. Winter is very playful and absolutely loves plush toys, hopping and pouncing when he’s feeling happy and safe. He’s got a goofy, endearing personality and is especially fond of cuddling with his foster mom. Though shy at first, he warms up beautifully when given time and space. He’s learning to trust people, especially men, and thrives with patient, gentle guidance. He does wonderfully with older children and is slowly warming up to younger ones, always responding with gentle avoidance if unsure—never a growl or bark. Winter gets along well with large dogs, especially females, and shows interest in making doggy friends. He hasn’t been tested with cats but shows curiosity; however, he does have a high prey drive when it comes to small critters like rabbits and lizards. Winter is still decompressing from his former life and continues to make inspiring strides each day. He now enters and exits his kennel with ease, enjoys car rides, and listens attentively to his foster mom’s directions. He is ready for a family that will continue guiding him with love, patience, and consistency.
