Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Foster or Forever Home Wanted – Meet Freya! Sweet Freya is ready for her fresh start! This 6-month-old Terrier mix was found by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan who did everything possible to reunite her with her family, but no one came forward. So now, Freya is officially part of the Labradors and Friends crew, and we’re on the lookout for the loving home she deserves. Freya is young, smart, and the perfect size—easy to cuddle, easy to travel with, and just the right height for snack-stealing (don’t worry, she’s polite about it). She’s housebroken with just the occasional reminder, great with other dogs, and has been wonderful with children. This little girl has a whole lot of life ahead of her and would love an active family who’s ready to help her continue growing into her best self. She’s got the heart and the smarts. Freya is located in Southern California. Apply to adopt or foster at .labradorsandfriends today!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
