Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Connie Kiggins (conniekluckydoganimalrescue) for more information about this pet. Sweet puppy (probably not any kind of potato except possibly couch) ISO forever home TATER TOT NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Tater Tot and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (07/27) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring, MD (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name: Tater Tot Best Guess for Breed: Terrier Mix Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of July 2025 SEX: female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 16 pounds as of 7/6/25 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Tater Tot is Looking For: Hiya!! I'm Tater Tot, and I'm looking for my forever family. I was found with a couple of my siblings in not a great situation; we'd been bitten by ants!! The people in the shelter are super nice, but I've heard they're might be a family and I could live in their house! I'm eager to get out of the shelter and put the past behind me, and find my family! I'd love to take walks, go to the dog park, take a training class to show you how smart I am, and of course to cuddle on the couch because if I'm any kind of a tater beyond a tater tot I might be a couch tater!! You can pick the show, I'll do the cuddling. What do you say? Are you the family for me?? What My Foster Says About Me: Play hard, sleep hard, eat hard that is Tater Tot's motto! At the moment she is getting all of her exercise indoors, so she runs around our apartment playing with every toy she can and chewing on every bone she can find, for about an hour. Then she willingly goes to her pen or crate and sleeps for two to three hours and then we do the whole thing again! She eats well and at night she settles down quickly. She is a very playful and friendly puppy who will make a great addition to any family. Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
