Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie. Hi all! I'm Neo, a 3 year old, 12ish pound black & gold Yorkshire Terrier fella who is on the search for my forever home and forever person / people. Here's a little bit about me to see if I'm your best fit! I'm a big fan of female-presenting humans, and a bit avoidant of male-presenting humans. Sorry, not sorry. I have lived with other dogs in the past, but to be quite honest, I'd much rather be your one and only. Other dogs can get me riled up a bit, and then I don't make the best decisions - they bark, I bark at them, and then I may or may not be a little bitey with them when I don't know what we are barking at. Their fault, not mine. Kids most likely would be a bit too much for me right now as well. I L.O.V.E being outside - it's the best! I'm going to need a fenced-in yard to play in and keep you company while you do yard-type things. I'm also quite athletic - I love to play with my ball, either with you or without you, and can jump pretty darn high if I do say so myself (said with a puff of the chest and a straightening of the bow tie.) I'm super smart and a quick learner too! I'm looking for my forever person to be patient with me, especially at first. Moving is a lot for a little fella like me, and I may be a bit independent before warming up to you. As long as you are patient, give me structure so my day is a bit predictable, and let me decompress at my speed, I bet we could be great friends. I met a trainer friend to let her know all about me, and she's going to help you get to know me (for free for you!). How cool is this! A certified professional comes with me! Btw, once I settle in I love ear and belly rubs and spooning at night. :) Me + you + my ball + soft things + a yard + patience = forever!! Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $390. Neo is being fostered in SE Portland. You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at underdogsrock/adopt-a-dog . You must be available to meet an Underdog in their foster's location and dogs are not held for applicants or shipped outside of the Portland metro area. Home checks are also part of the process and will be conducted virtually. For updates on all the Underdogs be sure to follow the Underdogs Rock Rescue Facebook page .facebook/UnderdogsRockRescue

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
