She was born on April 5th under heartbreaking circumstances—her mom, Coco, gave birth while tied to a tree, severely malnourished and neglected. Imelda and her siblings spent their first nine weeks surviving outside in the woods, with little human interaction and a world that felt far from safe. Now rescued and safe in foster care, Imelda is beginning to discover what love and security really feel like. She’s still learning to trust, but every day she takes brave little steps forward. She’s currently working on potty training, crate training, and getting comfortable with the everyday sounds and experiences of a real home. Imelda’s mom is a lab mix, and her dad is believed to be a chocolate lab—so she’s got a heart full of love just waiting to shine through. She’ll need a patient, kind adopter who’s committed to continuing her training and helping her feel safe as she grows.
