Dog Breed: Great Dane. Vader is a 2-year-old mantle Great Dane with a sweet heart and a sneaky streak—he loves hiding in the grass like he’s on a covert mission! Born in the home of his current owner, Vader is up to date on Rabies and DHLPP, receives regular flea/tick prevention, and is not currently on heartworm prevention. He has not had a gastropexy or received a Bordetella vaccine. No medical or genetic history is available. Vader is being surrendered by a loving family who can no longer give him the consistency and structure he needs. He has lived with dogs, cats, and children (ages 7 months–13 years) with no issues and has shown no food or toy aggression. He spends time indoors, in a dog run with his brother, and enjoys supervised time exploring outdoors. He’s housebroken, crate trained, rides well in the car, and is used to a collar and e-collar. Like many young, energetic dogs, Vader has a few training needs—digging, pulling on the leash, getting into trash—but he's very smart and treat-motivated. He can be a little shy with strangers at first, but once he’s comfortable, he’s incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle.
