Description
Dog Breed: Australian Shepherd. Meet Chad! Chad is the definition of a happy-go-lucky goofball. He’s young, high-energy, super loving, and still figuring out how to be a well-mannered house dog. He’s great in a crate, loves other dogs (big and small), and is working on his leash skills. He just needs someone who’s up for the ride. We’re not sure how a dog like Chad ended up in a shelter, but sadly, it happens every day. Even beautiful, sweet, energetic dogs like him get dumped when they’re no longer convenient. He deserves so much better—and we’re going to make sure he gets it. Chad’s not a couch potato. He’s looking for a home that can keep him busy—physically and mentally. He needs structure, playtime, and people who actually enjoy having a dog that wants to do stuff. If you’re more into strolls than hikes, or you like your house on the quiet side, Chad probably isn’t your match. He can live with cats, but only the kind that have been around dogs and aren’t afraid to set boundaries. He’s not mean—just young and enthusiastic—and does best when other animals are confident enough to put up a “not right now” sign. Chad is about a year old and weighs 24 pounds, so he’s on the smaller side, but don’t let that fool you—he comes with full-size Aussie energy. He’s a really good boy who just needs someone to keep up. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: .sandypawsrescue. PLEASE READ: • If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this. • All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date. • Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: .sandypawsrescue. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.

Overview:
The Australian Shepherd is intelligent and very loyal to his owner. He's a working dog, though, so he does best when his owner gives him a job to do ' such as herding livestock.
