Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Linda! Hello friends! My name is Linda and I want to be your new best friend. I promise to give you lots of cuddles and when you are ready to go outside,I’ll be by your side. I love to take long natures walks, look at birds and chase butterflies. If you have a visitor, I’ll first warn you but then will settle down and go into full on tail wagging “pet me” mode! When it’s time for bed or if you leave the house, I’ll go in my crate and chill out until you let me out. I’m working so hard at being able to always go potty outside and I’ll try to let you know. I like car rides and after I get a good look around, I prefer to snuggle down and nap until we get wherever we are going. Just call me Linda the Love Bug. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Linda is currently being fostered in South Carolina. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
