Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. Meet Josephine (aka Jojo)! This beautiful 6-month-old Shepherd mix weighs in at around 40 pounds and is blossoming more and more every day. Jojo may be a little shy at first, but with a little patience, her sweet and affectionate personality shines through. She came into her foster home pretty timid and scared, but in just two short weeks has made so much progress! Jojo loves being outside and is always up for a good play session with her toys, she especially loves a good chew toy to keep her busy. She gets along great with other dogs and really shines when she has a confident canine buddy by her side — which is why she’d do best in a home with another dog to show her the ropes! She’s also been living with cats and does well with them, too! Josephine has done fantastic with house training when kept on a schedule, and she’s crate-trained — spending quiet time in her crate during the day and sleeping peacefully through the night with no issues. This sweet girl is ready to find her forever family! Jojo is up to date on vaccinations/flea&tick/heartworm preventatives, spayed and microchipped. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
