Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Harriet is seeking a patient and experienced GSD home to provide her with the support and love that it will take to relax into a routine and start the next part of her life's journey on the right foot. She is a fearful dog who is very affectionate once she feels safe enough to trust that she won't be hurt. OTHER PETS: Harriet is a high-energy dog with a strong and intense personality, especially around other dogs she’s met here at TJO. Her interactions tend to be overwhelming for canine companions, so she’s looking for a home where she can be the only pet. Harriet thrives best as the center of attention. [Should Be Only Pet] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Harriet will need an experienced owner preferably someone who has experience with German shepherds and positive reinforcement. She is a very anxious dog and would do best in an active home with someone who has the time and patience to help her build confidence and learn new skills. [Experienced] KIDS: Harriet can be jumpy when excited and shows intensity around food, so she’ ll do best with an adopter who can help her decompress and manage these behaviors with consistency and care.
