Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Falcon is a 3-month-old, 18lb, blue heeler mix that came in with his sisters Raven and Robin, and he's every bit the playful pup you'd expect from a herding breed. He is a big boy with big wiggles and bigger snuggles. He loves to wrestle and play with his siblings, chewing and chasing and plopping. He sleeps hard, sometimes sprawled out right over top of his sibs. He loves human cuddles, too, and you can find him curled up for a snuggle or rolled onto his back for a belly rub. He's a big softie, but with a bucket load of energy. Falcon isn’t currently fostered with cats, but as a typical heeler mix, he may try to herd them (or anything else that moves!). He's working on house and crate training and will thrive in a home that’s ready to continue his puppy education with patience and consistency. He is neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and will be available for adoption starting 7/2 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA KL# 16182.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
