Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). ***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at .emmetcountyanimalshelter*** Roscoe is a 1-year-old, energetic, and affectionate dog looking for his forever home. Found abandoned in the countryside, he’s been lovingly fostered and is now ready to find his family. Roscoe is athletic, playful, and gets along great with other dogs, making him the perfect companion for an active household. He’s quick to learn and already impresses with his natural ability to heal on walks—even though no one’s taught him that! This brave, outgoing boy is also surprisingly respectful of boundaries, already being a pro at staying on his property off-leash. Roscoe is neutered, vaccinated, and looking for a family who can match his energy and give him the love and attention he deserves. The pups were likely born early summer 2024 and are altered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $300.00

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
