Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Click Here to Sponsor Me! Adoption APPLICATION: Muttsinneed/adoption-application ** Application must be completed prior to a meet & greet. Our Adoption Process:Muttsinneed/adoption-process Last month we had a good samaritan take in 2 puppies that were dumped together in a parking lot in LA. When they were found we originally were told they were older puppies, due to their size, but after vet exams, they were only 4 mos old at the time (and that means they are large puppies). Bernie, one of the brothers, is now approx 5 mos old and is getting along well with the other dogs. He is extremely sweet and the master of the puppy eyes. He has large paws and is projected to grow bigger & even cuter Bernie would do best in a home with another playful pup and because he is awaiting his neuter appt, any dogs in his forever home must be current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Apply to meet Bernie at .muttsinneed/adoption-application.html

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
