Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Poodle (Standard) / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: $599. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 06/13/25 Reason for being in rescue: Dumped outside of a rural SC animal shelter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Chip is up to date on vaccines for his age. Chip does have a few bumps on his shoulder. Our vet has recommended removal during neuter. Our best guess is that Chip is a labradoodle - only a DNA test will tell. He is 100% adorable! Dale is not hypoallergenic and will shed. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANOTHER ACTIVE DOG IN YOUR HOME, PLEASE DESCRIBE IN YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION YOUR PLAN FOR PLAY AND SOCIALIZATION WITH A NEW PUPPY. Weight: 20 lbs and growing - We estimate Dale will be between 45-55 lbs when full grown Height: 12 in and growing - We estimate Dale will be 24 in when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No. Dale will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum requiring you to spay her at your cost within 9 months and provide proof of spay. Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Chip requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Chip is a happy, active, young dog. He is looking for a young, active family. Chip's ideal home has another dog in it. Puppies especially need LOTS of play and socialization. If you don't have another dog, you MUST have a plan for regular (4-5 days/week) play and socialization of at least an hour with another young dog. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANOTHER ACTIVE DOG IN YOUR HOME, PLEASE DESCRIBE IN YOUR ADOPTION APPLICATION YOUR PLAN FOR PLAY AND SOCIALIZATION WITH A NEW PUPPY. Chip will be a great family pet. He'd love a home with kids. He's never been around cats, but is young and can be trained to be respectful. A person scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and can provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day and night is a must. Chip is a baby and needs play breaks as well as frequent and consistent potty times to aid in potty training. What is my personality like? Chip is a playful puppy with a heart full of love and endless energy. He loves chasing toys, exploring the yard, and snuggling up for naps. He does not meet a stranger, loves other dogs of all sizes, and he’s quickly picking up on his basic training. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Happy and friendly - Chip loves everyone! Other tips and tidbits: Chip was found as a stray so we have no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he was estimated at 4 months old when he arrived in rescue. We celebrate his birthday 02/13/2025. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Labradoodle is a mix between the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle. Both breeds are excellent for children and families. The Labradoodle became known in 1988, when Australian breeder Wally Conron crossed the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle at the Royal Guide Dogs Associations of Australia in Victoria. Conron's aim was to combine the low-shedding coat of the Poodle with the gentleness and trainability of the Labrador, and to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander. Sultan, a dog from this litter, displayed all the qualities Conron was seeking and worked as a guide dog for a woman in Hawaii for ten years. Although Guide Dogs Victoria no longer breed Labradoodles, they are bred by other guide and assistance dog organizations in Australia and other places. The Association for the Blind of Western Australia has introduced Labradoodles into their training program, and their first, Jonnie, graduated in November 2010. Labradoodles are now widely used around the world as guide, assistance, and therapy dogs as well as being popular family dogs. The Norwegian Royal Crown Prince and Princess own a Labradoodle.
