Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Misha is a beautiful girl who is looking for a new home. She's currently in one of our loving foster homes in NJ. Misha is happy, curious, friendly, affectionate, lively, and so much more! She loves to play and has a lots of energy, but will settle down for a long nap/cuddles once her battery runs out. This smart girl is house trained, crate trained (sleeps quietly in the crate all night), and leash trained - but may get distracted on walks. In only a few days she has learned sit, down, touch, stay, and come. She's very treat motivated! Misha isn’t reactive and is very submissive so would be a great companion for dogs of any ages/sizes. Because of her high puppy energy, we think she would do best in a home with older children. Misha is fixed, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $550. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
