Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Like Plankton's namesake, she is small in size, big in personality, and a not-so-secret sweetheart! Plankton and the rest of her SpongeBob SquarePants-themed siblings arrived to PAWS as a litter of 7, and have been learning the ropes ever since. Plankton was living in foster care with her sister Pearl who was recently adopted, and this equal parts snuggly and spunky girl is looking for a forever home to call her own! Plankton loves soaking up the spotlight whenever she has the chance—especially when it comes with ear scratches and belly rubs. Around other dogs, she might play it cool at first, but once she gets the green light, she dives in tail-first with a tidal wave of confidence and energy! Plankton seems like she would love to continue living with another playful dog in her forever home, and would make an excellent canine companion to anyone looking for their next best friend. Plankton’s favorite hobbies include; charming humans with her puppy eyes, playing with her doggy pals, and turning cuddle time into a contact sport (spoiler alert: she wins). She also loves being carried down stairs like the royalty she is, and if there’s a nap to be had, she’s all in! This smart girl already knows how to sit for her meals and often listens to the “sit” command even without treats (though she’ll never say no to a snack). She's still working on house training, but she’s a potty pad pro and making great strides each day! And she’s even starting to explore the great outdoors on her “big girl” walks—watch out, world! If you’re ready to trade a life of boring for a boatload of adorable, adopt Plankton and rescue her from the Chum Bucket life—she’s ready to join your Krusty Krew. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
