Dog Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. Sweet Bronx is a senior pup with plenty of life left to live and love left to give! Bronx is a 7-year-old shepherd mix with a handsome brindle coat and the cutest sock paw! At 53 lbs., he is considered a large pup. Bronx is very friendly, and he loves kids and other dogs! He even has a great disposition with cats and will accept them as friends to. Most of all, Bronx loves his stuffed animals. When he goes on walks, he holds them in his mouth the whole way! He is a lower-energy pup who just wants a family to love. Bronx will be the best companion for any person or family that adopts him. He would be content to have a quiet place to rest with the love and support of his family around him. Bronx already has his house training, leash training and crate training all figured out! Bronx aims to impress. It is important to remember that although Bronx is housetrained, accidents can happen while adjusting to a new home environment. Setting up a consistent routine will help Bronx adjust to his new home. With patience, consistency, and care, he is sure to feel at home in no time! In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
