Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier. Meet Marty – Your New Best Buddy! Marty is a big-hearted bulldog mix who’s all about his people. He’s goofy, affectionate, and happiest when he’s getting attention or cuddled up close. If you’re looking for a dog who’ll make you laugh every day and love you like it’s his job, Marty’s your guy. He came to us as an owner surrender after being adopted from another shelter. He used to live with another dog and got along fine, but he’s ready to be the star now. Marty can be around other dogs without issue, but he really prefers to be the only pet so he can soak up all the love for himself. Marty’s friendly with everyone he meets. He’s strong on leash but listens well once you get moving, and he’s very food- and toy-motivated—so training will come easily with a little consistency. He is potty trained, crate trained, and knows some basic commands. Marty does the cutest happy wiggly dance when it's dinner time and his tail goes a mile a minute. He loves to give kisses and show you as much love as possible! He loves his chew toys and treats, keeps his bedding in perfect shape, and enjoys curling up on a thick, comfy bed after playtime. Marty would do best in a calm home, ideally with older kids who’ll appreciate his goofy personality. He’s working on feeling more relaxed in a crate, but he’s a quick learner and just needs a bit of time and reassurance. He’s been waiting patiently for his forever family—and he deserves them.
