Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Looking for a gentle, good-natured, cheerful senior? At 9 years old, Chive is the dog for you. He's a chill housemate who will follow you from room to room to be near you and nap. He's good with other medium and large dogs—he respects their space and leaves them alone. He ignores the neighbor's cat, but hasn't been tested with indoor cats yet. He's also good with kids and houseguests. Chive's exercise needs are minimal. He loves a quiet, thirty-minute walk. He is easy to manage, although he sometimes pulls slightly on the leash when he sees other dogs. He is afraid of bikes and motorized scooters. He is a highly food-motivated student and has learned some basic commands: sit, down, and shake. He takes treats like a gentleman and shows no sign of resource guarding. He doesn't have separation anxiety. Best of all, he is 100% potty-trained. Because he has hip dysplasia, he may need a boost into larger cars, especially after a walk. He also has a severe flea bite allergy that has caused him to lose some fur. Chive is a calm, beautiful soul who deserves a comfy, chill home to live out his golden years. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
