Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Oscar is a Rottweiler mix that my daughter found as a stray on her morning walk. Our daughter recently moved out of our home and she could not take Oscar with her. We are seniors, and Oscar's energy level is a bit much for us to handle. Plus we are preparing to list our property for sale and urgently need to re-home Oscar with his new forever family! Oscar is a very friendly, curious, loving dog, a true cuddle bug indeed! His biggest joy in life is to play with other dogs, so owning other dogs or cats would be the ideal place for Oscar, so that he could be part of a new pack! He has a lot of energy & loves to play fetch with Frisbees and pull toys. Oscar has never met a stranger that he did not view as a potential new friend! Oscar is young, and needs more training to not pull when walking on a leash. If Oscar had a theme song, it would be Cyndi Lauper's hit single, 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' but with lyrics rewritten to say, 'Oscar just wants to have fun'! **** Breed: Rottweiler mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2184415&flag=1

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
