Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 300. ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Rocco! Rocco is a 7 year old, 18 lb. terrier mix. He is bonded with his sister Gracie and they must be adopted together. They are absolutely wonderful pups who can’t wait to find their forever home. Rocco and Gracie are perfectly behaved, medium energy and love to cuddle. They are completely potty trained and are great on walks. They are crate trained and really enjoy naptime and to go to bed at night in their crate. They are are great with other dogs, they are good with strangers and are good travelers. The groomer says they are easy clients and like to be bathed and groomed. They walk extremely well on a leash and are just waiting to become your new family members. Rocco will need to be on seizure medication for the rest of his life, but this does not slow him down at all. Are you ready to bring these delightful pups into your home? All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
