Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). CHARLIE - 3 years old, 45 pounds, nervous CHARLIE was surrendered to VBACAC when Charlie snapped at the infant in the home. It seems he might have been guarding his food when the infant crawled past. Charlie is rough with children as it is. A home with older kids or an adult home would be best for this big boy. He likely will need to be respected when food is involved. He is nervous in the shelter right now. He cowered away from me during our first meeting but he is becoming friends with others. He'll need time getting used to a new home, routine, family. Charlie can be trusted roaming free with his family and then free in a room when left alone. He's a smart boy who knows lots of commands. He is scared of loud noises. Charlie has lived with a cat before and is friendly and playful with other dogs. Bring any resident dog in for a meet and greet. Charlie enjoys going for car rides so this is a no-brainer! Taking Charlie out and about will make both of your days! Come on in to meet this good boy! He is currently in a back kennel so if you come in and don't see him, please just ask.
