BALOO - BASSET HOUND DOG FOR ADOPTION

Dog Breed: Basset Hound. Adoption Fee: 225. Baloo is a 9 yr basset hound. He appears to have gone to our local high kill shelter over and over again over the years. We did find out the last few times, he was there after being confiscated. That is never a good sign. We were asked to take him this last time as he was not going back to the owner again. They thought he had some lameness in his leg. Based on history and x-rays, it appears the leg had been broken before but not fixed so it did heal but not aligned. When we took him from the shelter, he walked just fine and we do believe he likely has arthritis from a break that did not heal properly. We have added joint supplements into his diet. Baloo was scared and trembling in the shelter. He has no idea what is going on. He seems like an easy going guy. We are still evaluating him, but he may need someone home more often. He is still adjusting and a bit scared still. Adoption fee is 225 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years therefore beagles under 3 years of age will not be adopted to anyone over the age of 62.
