Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 500.00. Jelena found herself unwanted and on the streets of Mexico. Her fate was unknown and street dogs are not treated very well. We said yes, so she was transported to our rescue partner in Texas and then to us in MN. She is great with other dogs, and people, but cats are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Jelena arrived in Minnesota in early August. Here’s what we’ve learned about her: ◦ Enjoys snuggling by her human or another dog ◦ Loves squeaky toys and playing chase with them ◦ Almost potty trained. She is good on the potty part; it's the other one that you have to watch her for cues. She does best on a schedule. ◦ Gets along well with the resident dogs & dogs at the events of all sizes ◦ Needs another dog in the home for companionship or someone who is home with her. She doesn't like to be completely alone. ◦ Occasionally needs some time to warm up to new people, but with some treats she is quickly your best friend. ◦ Does not like all young children but has done well with older kids at events. Teens should be okay. ◦ Crating during the day with another dog in the home allows her to settle. If alone is upset until a human or dog returns ◦ She is quiet at night in her crate ◦ Enjoys walks, puzzles and is a quick learner She is an adorably sweet girl with a lot of love to give.
