Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 500.00. Jelena found herself unwanted and on the streets of Mexico. Her fate was unknown and street dogs are not treated very well. We said yes, so she was transported to our rescue partner in Texas and then to us in MN. She is great with other dogs, and people, but cats are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Jelena arrived in Minnesota in early August. Here’s what I’ve learned about her so far: ◦ Enjoys snuggling by her human or another dog ◦ Loves squeaky toys and playing chase with them ◦ Almost potty trained ◦ Gets along well with the resident dogs ◦ Needs another dog in the home for companionship ◦ Needs slow introductions and time to warm up to some new people but with some treats she is quickly your best friend ◦ Does not like young children. Teens should be okay. ◦ Crating during the day with another dog in the home allows her to settle. If alone is upset until a human returns ◦ She is quiet at night in her crate ◦ Enjoys walks, puzzles and is a quick learner She is an adorably sweet girl with a lot of love to give.
