Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Beautiful Quincy is a happy, friendly girl who loves all people of all ages, enjoys getting treats, and relishes receiving pets and love. She walks well on a leash, and loves to go for walks, runs and adventures! While she's great with some dogs, she may need a meet and greet with potential dog siblings, as she can be a bit picky. Quincy isn't fond of cats, so we recommend her to go to a home where there are no kitties. Quincy would thrive in a loving home where she can be the center of attention and join in adventures. If you could use an adventure buddy, apply to meet this perfectly fun sized girl today! Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers? Our pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Many come from unknown backgrounds, so please consider the 10+ year commitment. Schedule an appointment today! Call 530-895-8888. We don't offer holds; pets can be adopted anytime. Schedule an appt or simply Apply to adopt Applied in the last 6 months? Just call!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
