Approx. 13 weeks old | Australian Cattle Dog mix | Birthday: April 13, 2025 Bizzy is a sweet, playful pup with a heart full of curiosity and a growing love for toys, cuddles, and companionship. He enjoys romping around with his siblings and adult foster dog, but when things get a little too rowdy, he’s just as happy to entertain himself with a good toy or snuggle up with his foster humans. He’s doing great with crate training—sleeping through the night like a champ unless nature calls, in which case he’ll politely let you know. Bizzy thrives on structure and would do best with someone who has a flexible schedule or can arrange daytime visits to make sure he gets plenty of out-of-crate time, potty breaks, and enrichment. Rescued from poor conditions at just 8 weeks old, Bizzy has embraced the good life—treats, toys, and all! He’s been friendly with kids, adults, and other dogs, and even his first cat meetings have gone well. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
