Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. This pet is in a foster home. Please call to schedule an appointment. Meet Napoleon! Napoleon is a small but mighty survivor with a big heart, ready to find his forever home. This little guy came to Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue with a broken pelvis, but he’s made an incredible recovery and is back to loving life! Napoleon can be a bit reserved at first, especially with men, and needs time to feel safe around new people. However, once he warms up, he’s a loyal companion who loves cuddles and quality time. He’s a fan of car rides and is perfectly happy to tag along in his dog purse for your adventures. Napoleon does well with most other dogs and gets along fine with confident cats who respect his space. He’s looking for a gentle, patient family that understands his journey and can offer the love and security he deserves. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, pint-sized friend into your life, Napoleon might just be the perfect fit! Come meet him and see if he’s the missing piece to your family! Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers? Our pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Many come from unknown backgrounds, so please consider the 10+ year commitment. Schedule an appointment today! Call 530-895-8888. We don't offer holds; pets can be adopted anytime. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
