Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Kansas Bangor, ME Kansas (aka Chubbs) is a very handsome neutered male cattle dog and is estimated to be three or four years old. He is up to date on vaccines and preventatives. He is housebroken and does not use a crate in the house. I do confine him to a bedroom should I need to leave him unattended. Chubbs is a strong willed dog and needs a firm and fair leader to be his best self. He has gone through a professional board and train and the trainer will include a follow up session with his adopter(s) in the local area. He knows loose leash heeling, sit, place and come. He does have anxiety in the car when it is in motion and does need to be crated in the car. He does stress pant. He still wants to go and hops in willingly, but something to consider if you travel a lot. He has in the past had issues with reactivity towards fast moving things, so a home without children is preferred. He likes to fetch sticks and has low to medium food drive. He’s overall a very chill heeler and doesn’t require lots of exercise to keep him happy and healthy. He’s done well with the dogs in the house and others with proper introduction. Cats are unknown but I don’t think he would have an issue with proper introduction. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
