Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. My daughter has had Cowgirl since she was a puppy, she is 10 now. She recently got out of an abusive relationship and has to move back home with her 2 boys under 3. Cowgirl just doesn't get the time she deserves nor the exercise she desperately needs. Our home is small and we have really tried to make it work but Cowgirl has become more nervous and just needs some TLC. We really want to see her go to an amazing home with maybe no other animals and room to roam or with someone that can give her daily walks she deserves. She has been amazing with all of my grandchildren, a true gentle giant with them. We will pay 100% of rehoming fees. **** Breed: Pitbull **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2185046&flag=1

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
