Staff members are still testing his behaviors around other dogs. CAT TEST: (Bad with Cats) Dexter tends to growl and has a tendancy to chase cats. Dexter should not go to a home that has cats. KID TEST: (Okay with Kids) Dexter tends to jump when he is excited and might do best with older kids until further training. HOUSE BROKEN: (Potty Trained) Dexter seems to be potty trained. ENERGY LEVEL: (Medium-High) Dexter is always eager and loves to be outside. Dexter likes to play with toys and run around the backyard. Dexter is always happy to meet new people and tends to go wherever pets are! LEASH WALKING: (Needs Work) Dexter is super excited and eager to go on walks and tends to pull hard on the leash. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
