Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Australian Shepherd (short coat). Adoption Fee: 130. Hello! My name is Lucky! I have lived in the Stover area for the last year, you see I lost my owner and I had no place to go. The kind people in Stover ensured I did not go hungry as you can see in the pictures. haha. I just arrived at the animal rescue on 7/11/25 and I can tell you I love the air conditioning. I am the sweetest dog, I do well on a leash. I am looking for a home where I can be spoiled and laid back. I need to get my steps in but I can also enjoy a good movie with you. Either way, I am your guy!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
