Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Here's Max, He's about 6 yrs old and 65lbs House and crate trained, potty trained as well. Australian shepherd/German Shepard/lab/pointer mix Taller but not quite the size of anything he's mixed with. Very excited about new people but good with everyone he meets. Also good with kids, loved his family's new baby and nephew Plays great with other dogs, plays tug of war with them as well as fetch and tug with us. Currently in a house full of cats/kittens, he's very interested and wants to play and be their friend, even if they might not feel the same lol Never tried to jump the 5ft fence, even though he is very athletic and energetic. He'll also give you plenty of love and cuddles at the end of a long day. Apply .4paws4rescue

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
