He’s a terrific blend of a herding dog and retriever - A MINI RETRIEVER! Buddy is just 12 lbs at 12 weeks old so his projected adult weight is 35-40lbs. He’s got the adorable looks of a Golden Lab mixed with the creamy coloring and freckles of a cattle dog. Buddy has moderate energy and loves to play with other dogs. He has two “foster siblings” one is a smaller dog and one is large; both play very well with Buddy. Buddy is crate-trained and has learned to “sit” on command for a treat. He’s a fast learner and a very eager-to-please little guy. We are looking for an active home and humans for Buddy, preferably with another dog to play with and to be a canine companion. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet.
