Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed. PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Senior alert and OH SO CUTE! Meet Felix. This little wookie bear is 12 years old and weighs 20lbs. He has been with 1 owner all his life, but sadly his owner lost his home recently and made the selfless decision to surrender Felix to us, so he wouldn't have to experience homelessness. This man has checked in on him several times and I know he misses his little buddy. Let's all share sweet Felix to help give his dad the peace of knowing he did the right thing and that Felix will have a good home. We are looking for a quiet home for this boy. He has been somewhat depressed since coming into rescue, understandably. We want to see him adopted soon so he can start the process of adjusting and bonding to a new family. He is friendly with other dogs, but is not submissive. So he would do best with a dog that won't try to dominate him. He would also be fine as a solo pet. He is unbothered by cats. Hes not totally housetrained yet but does well with belly bands, and we just had him neutered so hopefully that will help. Hes a sweet, affectionate little boy who deserves a great home. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
